The Cherry Creek Chorale proudly presents four major concert pairs each season on weekends in October, December, March and May. In October, 2011, we will launch our 32nd Season with a collaborative performance with the Boulder Symphony Orchestra.
Brian Leatherman, Artistic Director & Conductor, selects programs, themes and repertoire with input from the Artistic Committee and from audience member feedback. The Chorale sings both a cappella and music accompanied by piano, organ, solo instruments, ensembles and full orchestra. Repertoire includes anthems, motets, masses, cantatas, opera choruses, oratorios, show tunes, folk songs, spirituals and audience sing-alongs.
A Showcase concert is also presented annually, wherein members' talents are highlighted as they step out of the Chorale and into the spotlight in individual and ensemble performances. Showcase audiences enjoy a wide variety of music, including jazz groups, operatic arias, popular and silly songs, and instrumentals - all presented in a cabaret style. This traditional fun and fundraising event is normally complimented by food and a silent auction.
In the summer of 2010, members of the Chorale traveled to Italy and France where they sang under the direction of Dr. William Skoog at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and at the Basilica of St. John Lateran. The trip was a huge success and allowed Chorale members to reach beyond their normal boundaries to connect with other US singing groups and to represent our country and the State of Colorado as musical ambassadors across Europe.
