October 9 & 10, 2009
"AMERICANA"
The Cherry Creek Chorale opens its 30th season with Randall Thompson's
beautiful and beloved "Frostiana", selections from Aaron Copland's "Old
American Songs", the premiere of a new work in memory of long-time Chorale
supporter, Ira Gentle and a selection of patriotic favorites. This is a
concert the entire family will love and enjoy!

Always a feast for the senses, the annual Showcase shows a different side of the Chorale as members and friends present a variety show full of fun, great music and wonderful talent. Guests support the Chorale by bidding on silent auction items and treat their taste buds to an assortment of delectable goodies: heavy hors dÕoeuvres, desserts, soft drinks and coffee. There will also be a cash bar.

"WHAT SWEETER MUSIC" : Christmas Ancient & Modern
A treat for the heart, the mind, and the soul. Time travel with us as we
present a variety of Christmas Classics from many time periods including, in
some cases, two different settings from two different time periods of the
same text. Ravishing music in the glorious surroundings of Bethany Lutheran
Church!

"CELTIC BLUEGRASS": Scottish/Irish Festival IV
The biennial Celtic extravaganza becomes more popular with each
presentation. This year, locally and nationally known bluegrass band,
RECKLESS ABANDON, will help add a new twist along with our old friends, The
Centennial State Pipes and Drums, the Colorado Celtic Harp Society!

"PEACE"
We close our 30th season with two of the most beautiful and timeless works
of the 20th Century: Ralph Vaughan Williams' poignant and moving "Dona Nobis
Pacem" and the magnificent Maurice Durufle "Requiem". This is a concert for
the ages featuring two very different works with two very different focuses,
but one message: PEACE!
