About the Cherry Creek Chorale

Founded in 1980 by former Cherry Creek students and parents, the Cherry Creek Chorale provides a community for dedicated singers while sharing the joy of choral music with audiences near and far. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1986, the Chorale has been led by just three Artistic Directors, including current conductor Brian Patrick Leatherman, now in his 31st season.

With more than 130 singers, the Chorale performs a wide range of repertoire—from classical masterworks and sacred music to jazz, folk, spirituals, and contemporary favorites—and regularly commissions new works and arrangements. Four concert programs each season take place mainly at Bethany Lutheran Church, with additional performances across the Denver metro area, throughout Colorado, and internationally.

Collaboration is central to our mission, partnering with orchestras, choirs, soloists, and ensembles of all kinds. In 2012, we launched The CherryTones, a 16-voice a cappella group drawn from Chorale members, performing pop, rock, and jazz to reach new audiences and expand the Chorale’s presence in the community.

Our Mission

The Cherry Creek Chorale is committed to advancing artistic excellence, expanding access to the choral arts, and strengthening community through music. We provide dedicated singers with enriching performance experiences while presenting diverse, high-quality programming that engages, inspires, and connects audiences across our region.

Our Repertoire

From timeless classical works to modern favorites, our repertoire is designed to inspire and surprise. The Cherry Creek Chorale performs a diverse mix of sacred and secular music, jazz, spirituals, folk traditions, and contemporary pieces—creating concerts that offer something for every listener.

Non-Discrimination Statement

The Cherry Creek Chorale is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming community for all. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any aspect of our organization or activities. We believe that music is at its most powerful when everyone feels valued, respected, and has a place to belong.

A Partnership that Makes Music Possible

The Cherry Creek Chorale is proud to share a special and longstanding relationship with Bethany Lutheran Church. Bethany serves as a valued partner and host for many of our rehearsals and performances, providing a welcoming space that supports the arts in our community.

While we are grateful for Bethany’s ongoing support, the Cherry Creek Chorale is an independent, non-religious community choir. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared love of music and performance.

We’re honored to collaborate with organizations like Bethany that champion the arts. To learn more about their programming and community offerings, visit their Arts & Events page.
