After having the privilege of collaborating with composer Elaine Hagenberg during our From Darkness into Light concert this spring, it was an incredible opportunity to perform her work again on an international stage alongside choirs from across the United States.

Beyond the music, the trip offered time to experience the beauty, history, and culture of Paris, creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Saturday night’s performance of Aeterna Via became something none of us will ever forget.

Just before the concert began, the power went out across Cherry Hills Village — but the music continued. As the sanctuary darkened, more than 200 singers and instrumentalists performed entirely without stage lighting or amplification, guided only by one another and the music itself.

When the final word, “Light,” echoed through the sanctuary, the audience rose to its feet in an unforgettable standing ovation. ✨

In tiny rooms with just a piano and big ideas, songwriting giants like Carole King, Burt Bacharach, Paul Simon, and Neil Diamond penned songs that would top the charts and define a generation. From “Sweet Caroline” to “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” these classics didn’t just rule the airwaves, they became timeless cultural touchstones.

We are thrilled to welcome the wildly versatile Chappell Kingsland to American Songbook VI: The Brill Building Lights Up Manhattan on drums!

A composer, pianist, producer, and founder of the Wild Beautiful Orchestra, Chappell has spent more than twenty years creating concerts that blur genres and break expectations — from symphonic Led Zeppelin (“Kashmir Concerto”) to rock piano tributes to Nirvana and The Beatles. With degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, his work spans opera, choral music, orchestral performance, and electrifying rock arrangements.

Whether performing Sgt. Pepper in its entirety or producing genre-bending orchestral concerts across Colorado, Chappell brings extraordinary musical depth and energy to every stage.
