

The CherryTones are the Cherry Creek Chorale’s 16-voice a cappella ensemble, bringing an extra spark of energy and variety to the Chorale’s musical offerings. Formed in 2012, the group is made up of Chorale members who share a passion for contemporary vocal music and close-harmony singing.
With a repertoire that includes pop, rock, jazz, and vocal classics, the CherryTones perform both as part of Chorale concerts and at community events throughout the Denver metro area. Their dynamic performances and approachable style help introduce new audiences to the joy of vocal music while showcasing the versatility of the Chorale’s talented singers.
Led by conductor James Libbon, the CherryTones continue to expand their repertoire and reach, bringing lively a cappella music to audiences across the community.

Leslie Beahm
Alto
Leslie is an electrical engineer, triathlete, and lifelong choral singer. She has performed with ensembles across the U.S. and abroad, including the Penn State Concert Choir, Imperial College Choir in London, and several Colorado-based chorales. A member of the Cherry Creek Chorale since 2015, Leslie recently returned to the CherryTones after time spent building a passive-solar home and serving on the Chorale’s Board of Directors.

Nathan Bill
Tenor
Nathan Bill, past President of the Cherry Creek Chorale, has been immersed in music since childhood, beginning with piano, voice, and musical theater. Growing up, he performed with his family as the “von Bill Family Singers,” inspired by The Sound of Music. His musical journey continued through school choirs, summer programs, and regional ensembles before studying Vocal Performance at the University of Arizona. There, he performed with the vocal jazz group nUAnce alongside artists including Linda Ronstadt, and later sang with and led the a cappella group EveryMan Jack. After a hiatus from performing, Nathan is delighted to be back singing with both the Chorale and the CherryTones.

John Buteyn
Bass
John has sung with the Cherry Creek Chorale since 2013 and the CherryTones since 2016. He works in the construction industry, specializing in decorative concrete throughout the Denver area, and values the opportunity to make music alongside a passionate and dedicated community of singers.

Tim Gesler
Tenor
Tim has been a member of the Cherry Creek Chorale since 2017 and joined the CherryTones in 2023. He brings enthusiasm and a deep love of singing to every rehearsal and performance.

Jay Hartman
Tenor
Originally from Texas, Jay grew up surrounded by music, influenced by his father’s garage band. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he joined the Cherry Creek Chorale in 1995. His singing journey has included pauses for continued education and career development. Today, he works as a lab manager in manufacturing and is glad to be back performing.

Nancy Henson
Soprano
A Colorado native, Nancy grew up singing with her family and performing folk music in her early years. She later spent over two decades performing swing jazz across the Front Range. Nancy joined the Cherry Creek Chorale in 2016 and the CherryTones in 2023, and she is thrilled to return to small ensemble singing.

Gordon Johnson
Bass/Baritone
Gordon’s musical roots began singing hymns around the piano with his family. Over the years, he has performed with a wide range of vocal ensembles, including choirs, opera choruses, and barbershop groups. Since moving to Denver in 2019, he has been an active member of the Chorale and enjoys balancing music with travel, volunteering, and time with his wife.

Wyatt Johnson
Baritone/Tenor
Wyatt is a lifelong musician who began with piano before exploring cello, trombone, and voice. He studied Jazz Performance at the University of Utah and earned recognition in regional vocal competitions. After time away from music, he is excited to return to ensemble singing and contribute his energy and artistry to the group.

Dr. James Libbon
Musical Director, Bass/Baritone
James brings over two decades of choral performance and leadership experience, with a focus on vocal jazz and a cappella music. In addition to directing the CherryTones, he works as a geriatric physician. Outside of music, he enjoys photography, videography, swimming, and time with his family.

Dr. Randi Libbon
Alto
Randi serves as General Manager of the CherryTones and has been a member since 2021. With a background in a cappella singing, she is passionate about fostering a love of music in others. She works as a psychiatrist at CU Anschutz and enjoys baking, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Leah Lucas
Alto
Leah has been a member of the Cherry Creek Chorale for fifteen years and also sings with her church ensemble. She is a pharmacist by profession and values the balance music brings to her life.

Ruth Most
Soprano/Alto
Ruth has been making music since childhood and has performed with numerous choral groups, including the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus. After a 30-year career as a social worker with Cherry Creek Schools, she now enjoys time with family, travel, and continued singing.

Jenee Stewart
Soprano
A founding member of the CherryTones, Jenee has an extensive performance background as a soloist and ensemble singer. She has appeared with numerous regional arts organizations and holds degrees in music and business. Professionally, she works in operations management and remains deeply engaged in both music and community.

Gia Viscardi
Soprano
Gia is a physician and dedicated musician who has balanced a career in emergency medicine with a lifelong commitment to choral singing. A former president of the Colorado Women’s Chorale and the Cherry Creek Chorale. Gia is proud to perform with the CherryTones.

Jeannie Williams
Soprano
Jeannie recently joined the Cherry Creek Chorale after relocating from Texas, where she performed with the Texas Master Chorale for over three decades, including international tours and performances at the Vatican. A lifelong musician and educator, she is delighted to continue sharing her love of choral music.
